Is there such a thing? If so, suggestions welcome?

I have been losing weight since Nov 2011 (was 198 now 178.5), i've been doing so well but lately havn't been sticking to it as much (the calorie counting) but still exercising loads (buring average of 2500-3000 a week).

So, im looking for a bit of a detox to kick start me again and "rid" my body of all the yuk i've been filling it with (chocolate mainly!!!)

Many Thanks!!

Oh and I know the best thing would be to just restart my healthy eating/calorie counting as it's safe but hey I just thought i'd ask :)

The chocolate and other things you put in your body should be coming out every day or two...

Drink water, eat good foods. Your body does not need any special pill or juice or weird drink concoction to detox.

Healthy, fresh, foods and tons of water.

The detoxes they sell in the stores are worthless in my opinion. Some do more harm than good.
  • i am going to do this detox i found on women's health. it looks sane, and is not some crazy juice / cayenne pepper thing.

the reason i want to do it is to get back on track with healthy eating, and try and get rid of the constant sugar / crappy food cravings. i dont know why i think this will work, but its worth a try lol

Totally agree ... your body can clean itself and if you go back to basic clean foods then your body will do the rest ... All of the above!

yup. you body does this daily. no need to screw with that and try to do any more than is done. anything out there is a waste of money and a load of mumbo jumbo.

A lot of people like the juicing fasts. There is even a movie based on it and this website for juicing : http://www.jointhereboot.com/index.php?lang=en

I have a juicer and should do it more. But a lot of people like to do the juicing detoxing.

What are toxins, by the way? And what is going to stop you for re-intoxicating your body after your done detoxing it? These are some of the questions I wish I would have asked myself a few years ago but i really think I just wanted a miracle diet.

I would focus on cutting the bad stuff out of your diet completely and for good otherwise what is going to stop you from going straight back to your old habits?

That being said, I did some extreme detoxes during college and they f*ed up my digestive system. I am still trying to get back on track and it has been a few years. Just be careful and listen to your body. There is no quick fix to health and it feels so much better if your earn it the right way.

If you must do a detox, I recommend doing one that contains supplements to ensure that you are getting what your body needs to function well. I would recommend this one:

There is no such thing as detox, unless your liver is failing.

  • I am currently doing the 21 day sugar detox, pretty much 3 weeks of no sugar.. however I am allowing myself to have natural sugars in things like fruit, and some foods that have a little sugar added like spaghetti and pasta but I'm cutting out sweets, chocolate, cake, sugar in my coffee, etc today is day 3 and I'm feeling really good and this is my kick start! to get back into the swing of things i've lost 30lbs and been slack for the last few months and this is really helping so far.
