Moving like a dead turtle

I feel like I have hit a stand still since getting plantar fasciitis. It’s crazy because I was able to do all the activities that I can’t now before having the baby and I was much heavier. Every time my foot feels like its healed and I try to go for a walk then it starts to flair back up. I will wait until it has stopped hurting for at least two weeks before trying to do something like walking. When I do walk I only do it for a short distance, then I switch to a no impact a workout. I have only lost one pound since January. I am far behind my weight loss goal and my body just doesn’t want to let weight go. I have been working out and trying to eat right about 90% of the time. I just am frustrated with my body. I have been doing no-impact workouts but I just don’t burn as much as I would running or doing tae kwon do. I think that the only way to get my foot to heal is to loose more weight but I can’t loose weight if I do not break this cycle. My doctor tells me I am doing great but she is comparing my overall weight loss since August when I had the baby. I tell her, “sure it looks great if you look at it that way.” “I lost 26 pounds between August and Christmas.” “Now we are almost halfway through the year and NOTHING.”

Have you seen a podiatrist at all? I have issues with my feet still, but what ended up really helping out was getting custom insoles for my shoes. My feet are a real mess, so I know they'll never be perfect, but i'm able to do a whole lot more than I could last year. It may also be something that would be covered by insurance (they are definitely not cheap). I have what is pretty much the worst plan the ins. co has (this from one of their reps to a former co-worker) and it was covered. At the least, it doesn't hurt to look into it. You'll have to start chasing after a toddler soon, they just might come in handy. Good luck!
