Runner with an injury

Hi all! I'm new to these forums. I've been using the mobile app for a little bit and love how it shows me the ratio of carbs to fat to protein for each day. However, I'm just trying to worry about calories right now. I've been a runner for a couple years now and am down with a strained IT Band. :sad: After not being able to run, being stressed from not being able to run, and not really changing my habits I gained about 5 lbs and am trying to lose that and then some. I can swim and ride a bike with no pain, but I don't have as much motivation or enjoyment from those activities. This weekend I'm babysitting my niece and told her that I'm bringing my bike - she got excited which means our bike ride will be a ton of fun.
I'm trying so hard to ignore gimmick diets, artificial sweeteners (although my strawberry shortcake pack of Extra gum has been a lifesaver), HFC, and hydrogenated oils for the most part. I've just felt better overall. Now I just need to keep my calories in check and my sanity in the normal range. :drinker:
