I have been thinking that I would like to learn tai chi. I have heard good things about the benefits to the mind and stress level and also for fitness. I have not seen any "how to" DVDs out there. Does anyone know if there are any? Will I have to go to a class to learn? I would rather do this at home, not much time in the schedule for traveling to and from class.

Thanks!!

David Dorian Ross and Scott Cole both have instructional DVDs--check Amazon or Collage Video. Netflix also has some if you have a DVD subscription.

There are a couple of good Tai Chi instruction DVDS that you can work at home. I would encourage you to try a class with an instructor first if you can to get a good foundation in proper alignment and how to do the moves. If that is not available I would suggest DVD's by Dr. Paul Lam (M.D.), you can find him on Youtube or Lee Holden who often does programs on PBS. Both are well produced and structured to take you through the movements in an easy to learn pace. I suggest them to my students all the time. BTW, I have been studying Tai Chi for over 14 years and teaching for over 6. Also, the last Saturday of April is World Tai Chi Day and there are free events all over the world to connect you with other Tai Chi practioners Check out Worldtaichiday.org.

Check your library. Mine had some and it's a very small town library.
