Zumba Toning

I am going to start Zumba toning (have been doing regular Zumba workout since October) on Monday. I have never, ever layed my hands on any types of weights, so this is all totally new to me. Anyone else do it? What do you think?

Anyone have any clue how many calories you burn in a 1/2 hour session?

    I think the zumba toning sticks are a complete joke and a waste of time. Sorry. I would much rather do regular weights and regular zumba.

    I have been doing toning for about 7 weeks now. I hated it until 2 weeks ago. I felt like such a klutz with the toning sticks. Now I enjoy going. My arms are definitely getting stronger because you are forced to keep your arms up instead of getting lazy and resting them. (Plus-you should see my instructor's arms!). I'm not sure if all toning classes are the same, but we only use the toning sticks in about half the songs. The rest of the songs work out your abs a lot.
