Swallow your fear

I notice a very common recurring theme in these parts is fear. "I'm scared to eat my calories". "I'm scared to go in the free weights section". "I'm scared people will make fun of me when I run". etc, etc.
A little bit of fear is normal. It's human.
I was scared sh!tless on my first day of kindergarten. Then again, first day of elementary school, middle school, high school, college, and so on. I was scared the first time I rode my motorcycle to work. I was scared to go on my first job interview. Etc, etc, etc.
The question is, will you let the fear stop you? Do you want to succeed? Suck it up. Acknowledge your fear, look it in the eye, and conquer it. That will get you to the next level.
Or, just sit around and keep dwelling on how scared you are, and make no progress.
The choice is yours.

0 calories, but it can interfere with fat-loss as it will release cortisol. so make sure to chew thoroughly before swallowing.0 -

Yikes - wouldn't want that. I'll do the ABC's as I chew just to be extra sure.0 -

This is a great post.
The first thing that popped into my mind was that many people do swallow their fear and that is how they end up needing MFP. I know you meant to release it , process, move through it.. don't allow it to paralyze. ..
I think many people eat to hide, bury, or soothe fear.
Very interesting choice of words in the title of this post and very thought provoking.
Thanks for posting.0 -

(I get cold feet sometimes and won't be bungee jumping off a bridge anytime soon LOL)
But why should losing weight and/or getting fit be so darn scary ?
We're all capable of more than we think .... let's just do it :glasses:0
