I always double check nutritional info and add my own exercises as to what the machine I used said and now I use my HRM to add things....most of it is what users have put in and have calculated themselves for their age/weight/height/gender so I always add my own exercises!!

as far as alotted cal intake, I would double check that, I'm sure there is a formula for men as well, but I just recently learned that there is a formula for women and it told me I could eat much more than MFP did so I'm gradually increasing to see what works.
    good luck :)

I don't like the set calories (by how many pounds a week you want to lose) and eat back exercise calories mentality. I'd rather see a good explanation to newbie about BMR and TDEE. It's taken me quite a while to educate myself on the message boards and elsewhere and I see many others are confused by it but all in all, MFP has been quite instrumental in my weight loss success
