I read earlier today that due to the Lunar orbit path, tonight the moon will be it's closest to earth. It's also supposed to be a full moon resulting in the moon appearing up to 15% bigger and 30% brighter.
There is also supposed to be meteors visible... something to do with Haley's comet tail.
Thought I'd share for any other star gazers out there
