raw brownies anyone?

So I managed to find some organic dates, and planning on making raw 'brownies' today/tomorrow....has anyone tried these? are they nice? or anyone made them??
have seen a few variations of the recipe, but basically dates, walnuts and cacao powder, (and almonds?) (optional salt, coffee, vanilla) and perhaps an icing made using avocado, coconut oil, agave and cocoa. (if the avocado is ripe yet!!)
thanks :)

    Hey hun,

I made a few variations of Raw brownies a few years ago, They are nice  but a lot heavy than a 'normal' brownie but at least you know they're A LOT better for you !!

I make them all the time and I love them! I never ice them though. (and I often make little chocolate with dates, oats, cocoa and some sort of nut - check out chocolatecoveredkatie.com for a variety of options)

I tried them: 200g pitted dates, 100g cashew nuts, 5 tbsp cocoa powder, 1 tsp vanilla extract, 1/4tsp instant coffee and a tiny pinch of salt (1/16th tsp?)
I just chopped in a mini blender attachment thingy, be sure to blend the dates up finely for a fudgey texture and so it sticks together and i blended the cashews up first as its only a mini chopper and other recipes i have seen recommend blending separately then combining in a bowl with a spoon/hands.

    its from http://chocolatecoveredkatie.com/2012/03/10/thin-mint-brownies/

    but adapted by me! :)
