What is more accurate?

Do I trust the calorie burn calculator on my treadmill ( which knows my speed and incline %) or do I trust the calorie burn calculator on my heart rate monitor (which knows my age, sex and weight)?

seems obvious. trust the HRM more.0

That's what I figured but I've read some people's posts saying they trust their equipment more.0

I would trust the HRM more than the equipment. I know some treadmills have a HRM on them and even allow you to input your stats (age, weight, etc) so they may be just as accurate, but if the one you are using doesn't have one I would go with your HRM.0

I've read with walking and running, the equation to determine calories burned is pretty starboard. So in that case, your HRM and the treadmill should be pretty close. Things like the Arc Trainer and the Elliptical would be better judged by your HRM0

Since I can't input my personal statistics into my treadmill, I trust my HRM since it is calculated to my age, height and weight.0
