The only horror films to ever scare me have been the original Japanese versions of The Grudge 1 &2 and The Evil Dead

Halloween(the original) was the scariest movie I have ever seen as an adult. I remember coming home from the movie that night, and having to walk upstairs to my bedroom shared with my sisters. Both were asleep when I came up, so I am groping around in the dark, and then one of them was breathing really heavy. I felt scared all night. It took me a while to stop looking over my shoulder. As a little kid, I remember being scared by the movie The Birds by Alfred Hitchcock. My kids saw that recently and laughed at it! I don't go to scary movies.

I love J-horror (has anyone seen House?) and zombie films. Outside of that, Silent Hill was pretty good, and The Exorcism of Emily Rose.

I can't watch torture porn or any extremely violent movies usually, unless they are super campy. I mostly prefer creepy to horrifying.

The last scary movie I saw in a theater was Misery. I was so startled when Kathy Bates opened the door suddenly, I threw my pop corn on the people in the row behind me. I watched Jaws on TV at home and threw cofee all over myself. I only READ horror now and I do enjoy it!
