Question about HRM calories burned

Ok, I have a HRM that I have had for a long time and had forgotten how to use the settings. I had been using Endomondo to calculate my calories burned by typing in duration, max heart rate, and average heart rate for the activity (I wore the HRM and just paid attention to my average and max HR). Endomondo was calculating my calories burned, while doing Insanity, as between 300-400 calories. Today I took the time to figure out the settings and my HRM told me I had burned almost 800 calories for the 40 minute workout. Is the HRM more accurate? If so I have been WAY underestimating my calories burned!

I have the opposite problem, in that my heart rate monitor gives me about half or a third of the amount of calories burned compared with Endomondo. I'm really sorry I don't have an answer for you, but a question - how to you input your max and average heart rates into Endomondo?
From why I have heard/read, generally the HRM is the most accurate measure of effort/calories etc, although I would be interested to know which HRMs are the most accurate! I hope someone more knowledgable is able to help you! :flowerforyou:0 -
I go to "Workouts", then "New Workout", then "New workout with no route" and it asks for all that info.0

Thanks - I'll try that next time!0
