    Fairview Heights, about 30min east of St Louis :) Never been to Chicago,farthest north I've been is Quincy to visit family. I four wheel in Waterloo and work in O'Fallon, born in Belleville, raised in Shiloh, moved to Fairview Heights when I was 10. So basically metro east :)

    * You don't pronounce the "s" at the end of Illinois .

    * You are annoyed by people who do

    * You measure distance in minutes.

    * You have no problem spelling or pronouncing " Des Plaines ."

    * Your school classes were canceled because of the cold.

    * Your school classes were canceled because of the heat.

    * Stores don't have sacks, they have BAGS.

    * You end your sentences with an unnecessary preposition. (Example: "Where's my coat at?" or "If you go to the Jewel I wanna go with.")

    * You can locate Illinois on the United States map.
    * You carry jumper cables in your car - and you know how to use them.

    * "You drink "pop."

    * You know why they call Chicago "The Windy City."

    * You have ridden the "L."

    * You can distinguish between the following area codes: 847, 630, 773, 708, 312, & 815.

    * You know the phone number for Empire Carpets.

    I live in Iowa, but it would take me maybe 10 minutes to get to Illinois. :)

    I live in Indiana, but it would take me maybe 15 minutes to get to (southern) Illinois. :)

    Seems like everyone is either from Chicago or the burbs around Chicago...I am NOT from any of those. I am however from the heart of Lincoln Land, near Decatur (grew up in Decatur), in a small town 10 min from there, Dalton City. Surrounded by farmland!
