I completed 103 stairs on the stairmaster at my gym however, I'm not sure what counts as completing a set of stairs? Anyone know. Are stairs 12 steps, 20 steps, 30 steps? You know what I mean?

The stairmaster at gym shows me I did 103 flights of stairs and it tells me how many steps a minute I am doing but I am just wondering what consitutes a flight of stairs? Hmmmm

here you go. I have also included some other info on how many steps are in orther thigs also.
How Many Steps are in a...
    • One flight of stairs averages 10 steps.
    • 1 mile = 2,000 – 2,500 steps
    • 1 mile = 5, 280 feet
    • The average step length for an adult is 2.5 feet
    • Most adults walk 2 – 4 miles per hour.
    • Most adults walk about about 750 – 1,500 steps in 10 minutes.
    • One city block is about 200 steps.
    • 10,000 steps is 4 – 5 miles.
    • The width of walking 10 extra parking spaces-50 steps.

Now how do you log that here?
  • FYI - I did 65 floors in 10 minutes, at 102 stairs/minute.
    This gives 10 * 102 = 1020 steps
The Empire State building has 102 floors, 1860 steps
    This is about 18 steps/floor (1860/102)
    My stairmaster is at about 16 steps/floor (102 stairs in 10 minutes = 1020 stairs, 1020/64 floors =~ 16 steps/floor)
    65 floors * 16 steps/floor = 1040 steps
    (1860 - 1040) = 820 steps from climbing Empire State Building
    820/16 = 51 more floors...
This means that I need to climb 65+51=116 floors of stairmaster to equate to 102 floors of Empire State Building.
