I disagree! You showed that you can recover from when our bodies decide to work against our weight loss efforts :flowerforyou: I've also not lost much since our start date, but knowing that other folks are still plugging away helps and inspires me to do that same.0 -

I injured my tendon so I can't work out as hard as I was before (running, step class, etc) So I really have a hard time getting a good burn by just walking or doing pilates & strength training. I was burning around 500 calories a day & now I'm barely getting over 200. But, I'm not letting it keep me down. I've really been watching my food & calorie intake lately. I'm down to 1200 a day + my exercise calories, of course! I've adjusted down to splenda for my morning coffee & other little frugal changes to make my calories go further.
I'm not sure how much lower I'm going to go. I still have trouble zones I'd like to tone (thighs, belly pooch), so I'm thinking of readjusting 5lbs down at a time, continue working out & see how I like the results.
On a good note, this time last year, I was barely able to fit a size 16 & today, I'm wearing brand new Old Navy size 6 jeans!! I don't think I've ever worn anything under a 12!
MFP & the fabulous people here who are so supportive & motivating !!
How about you Chrissy, what changes have you made?? I love hearing about your running - a bit envious, because I can't run with my tendonitis - but, I do love hearing about your accomplishments! You are doing so great!!0 -

Well so far running is my main change - but I HAVE to rest in every other day or my hips are KILLING me. They'll get stronger as I go so I am just taking it easy. I eat 1400 a day and add in exercise calories - not always all of them but I try. I've been bad this week going to low again a couple days - really got to work on that. I try to exercise about 5 days a week - walking or strength class on the non running days. I will probably tweek my calories after this month - we'll see if I am still losing steadily - I won't change whats not broken!
I hope your tendon gets better - I know that's really painful.
Funny how little things like fat free creamer or splenda in coffee really help with getting the calories to balance at the end of the day. It is amazing how little things really add up!
Once I hit my initial goal, I may play with another 10 pounds - we'll see how it goes. I am in a 12 right now - started out in a 22 needing to be in a 24....I haven't worn a 12 since having my daughter 17 years ago....the closest I've come was a 14 about 8 years ago. I gotta tell you it feels so good to shop in regular departments and stores and acutally have to go back for smaller sizes-I still don't quite get how much of me is gone!
I've babbled enough - hope all of you beautiful blues enjoy a Happy 4th!!!! After all - it's for the red white and BLUES!!!!0 -
Hey everyone! Good job this week. I forgot to send my weight, but I was down 4.4lbs from the previous week. For some reason, I wasn't on the chart last week. Last week's weight was 174.8, this week 170.4. I'm really getting back into this. I want to be at 162 by August 1. It really helps me having to share my weight with the group, because I hate telling anyone what I weigh. Well, I hope you are all doing well. Happy 4th of July weekend!!0

Hey Blues!!! Just wanted to check in for a sec. I weighed in and maintained. I have had just enough time in the day between work and taking my daughter to/from my mom's to come home and get everything ready for the next day, shovel in some dinner and get my daughter ready for bed. I'm so wiped out and it's only going to get worse! My shift is changing from an 8am start to a 6:45am start! On top of everything else, I'm supposed to be studying for work. I'm having a really hard time fitting in sleep, much less exercise. I'm doing pretty well with eating, though! I think I'm going to try to work in 10 minutes of exercise at a time until I can figure this whole working single mom situation out. Happy 4th, everyone!0

Good morning blues!! What's everyones plan of attack for getting through this weekend?? I'm thinking arm myself with a bottle of water at all times & concentrate on getting my fruits & veggies in! How about you guys?0
-
The water is a good idea. I've been slacking on that. My goal is to resist temptation from other people to eat sweets. This weekend is going to be hard because it's the 4th, and that means all kinds of junk food.:grumble:0

My thoughts exactly!! I have a picnic to attend on Sunday & I'm banking that they'll have fruit salad of some sort. Hopefully that'll help with my sweet cravings & I've been asked to provide the veggie tray so that's half of it! LOL! :drinker:0 -

It takes a while but you'll get used to getting up earlier. I promise. I used to barely be able to get up at 7a now I get up a 430 and have left before 630. I actually feel like I have more time now that I go to work earlier because I get off earlier.
I hope things get better for you! :flowerforyou:0 -
Happy July 4th everybody.
Saturday I'll be helping my future brother in law buidling a deck in the front.
Water, hopefully some fruit, and maybe the one or two beers. :drinker:
Sat night going to go visit my nephews.. They are having a party and my newphews birthday.
BBQ's at both places. Will just have to pick and choose what I eat and watch the beer.
Good luck this week to everyone.0 -
Hi Blues,
I am on vacation this week, and surprise i am doing really well. I have my 13 and 8 year old nephews running with me and i burned 1000 calories yesterday and ran twice. Just finished my run this morning and maybe another one tomorrow. Damn if they don't whip me into shape. I thought i would have trouble but so far so good.
I am going on vacation next week too, this time to California, but i may not do so well that week. We will see. Happy 4th of July to everyone in the states. Have fun and watch those BBQ calories. FRUIT, FRUIT, and more FRUIT (not fruity alcohol drinks, like my brother-in-law tried to get me hooked into drinking).:drinker: :drinker:0 -

Happy Independence Day!
Went to see fireworks at our town's celebration last night (yup, in July 3). Ended up giving in to temptation and had a small milkshake. However, I still feel good about the day because I exercised for 80 minutes and drank my water. Reminding myself it's the race, not the sprint that will get me where I want to be.
Today we're going to the swimming pool with the kids and I've got a great avocado-chickpea salad that I'm making for lunch. YUMMY! Just did a 3 mile walk and burned more than 450 calories. Now let's see if I can stay within my limits for the day
Have a great day everyone!0 -
I'll be back! I'm trying to maintain for a few weeks while I get my dissertation done. I'll be trying to catch up with you all at the end of the month  Keep the Blue flag flying! :drinker:0

Oh no! It's the 4th of July. I planned on staying home and hanging out with my sister (my parents are away on vacation), but then my best friend invited me to his aunt's house to celebrate 4th of July with them, so I decided to go.
Only one problem- my friend's mom goes nuts when people don't stuff themselves. She's like "No no no no no no no no!!!! Nope, my handsome son cannot be friends with anorexic girls! Oh no no no!!! Eat something, child."
So I'm going to try to eat right today. Maybe eat a bunch of veggies. I'm sure there will be water, so I'll be chugging that down.
Good luck to everybody else!0 -
Hi guys-it's me stealing a signal off the store at the lake! It's ok, my daughter works here. Funny thing happened yesterday. It was cool out and I was working out on my deck. Anyway, I saw a boat full of people paddling in the waves, floating past my place in the window reflection, so I asked if I they needed help-Daaaa, and had to run and get my DH, who was exercising inside, and go help them before they hit the rocks. Anyway, we often have to rescue people who rent from the marina and don't have a clue on what they're doing. The wind comes up, and they lose control... They were standing up in the boat, not wearing life jackets, I was like "guys, here's some safety rules.." anyway, my daughter was having her 1st shift in the marina, so I was shaking my head when they told me who rented them the boat. But, people don't listen to rules either. I have been eating poorly every other day cause I can't log on all the time, especially chewy candy when I m relaxing doing sudoko-my new pass time killer. The workouts and walks have been great though, but I'll never see the numbers drop on that scale. I'm so scared to step on it. I know I look more toned than last year, but my goal was to decrease my body fat% and get under 140 and it's just not happening. Noone has said anything to me either-noticing that is, so it's kinda discouraging-not that I have to have the compliments, but it is motivating-you know what I mean.:ohwell: Don't ya ever wonder how people can sit around, eating and drinking-here at the lake it's everyone's pass time, and not gain weight? We went once over to the neighbors, and I ate my veggie platter only, and drank flavored water. The other appies were so fattening, and they were all drinking. One lady is getting bigger every year, but not the other people. Anyway, hopefully we'll get the net at our place soon and I can behave with the food. I really am not sure how many cals I should be eating either. What is the max you guys try to eat? I find the less I eat the worse off I am.
I'm in for the challenge. More veggies, fruit and keep up my H2O intake. Hopefully it'll help.
I'm very proud of all you guys for your losses and exercising, and believe me, I am still part of the team I hope, but may just not weigh in anymore and chuck the scale out. I'll check in again, happy belate July 4th for you guys, have a great weekend. Kath0
