Hi all,

We hear all the time that we should have 3 meals and 2 snacks a day, and a bit of protein with each of them. And I know it works. Since I am away from home most of the day and brownbag all of my food - I am looking for suggestions for what to pack!! I need some variety!!

Here are my Protein Suggestions:

Greek Yoghurt with Whey Powder (double whammie...good for breakfast)
Apple Wedges with Peanut Butter
Hardboiled Egg
Cottage Cheese with fruit
Leftover cold pork chop (not an every day/quick lunch option - requires more planning. Leftover anything is a myth in my house)
2 slices of lean Black Forest Ham on Pumpernickel with mustard (my lunch staple)

What's in YOUR lunch bag?

The only thing different than what I have seen is a can of tuna. I mix it with a raspberry vinaigrette dressing and maybe some spinach.

I have short 15-30min breaks between classes so I don't have time to sit and eat so I tend to pack the same lunch every day.

1-2 oz of nuts & a protein bar.

I try to eat every 2 1/2 to 3 hours. I carry SYNTHA -6 protein powder with me or Cliff Builder Bars. Both have excellent protein and carb ratios. I find protein powder is the easiest thing to carry because all you need is a bottle and water to make a snack. Some people may get bored of that but therre are many flavors to choose from.

I've been addicted to black bean brownies lately. http://www.food.com/recipe/black-bean-brownies-gluten-free-255239 I use a modified version of this recipe with less sugar, and added peanut butter. It's sooo good and there's a ton of protein and fiber in there. Mmmmmm!

I usually eat 2 eggs for lunch, though.
