Im maaried with three kids all under five. I have a question for all you married folks out there (answers from single folks are welcome too). Would you rather have your spouse start exercising before your kids wake up or wait until noon when the kids are wide awake? It seems like the choice would be obvious but maybe I'm missing something. Please let me know.

Depends what works best for everyone. If they want time to themself without any distractions, mornings would be best. If they like company and want the kids to learn good exercise habits, nothing wrong with having the kids work out with them.0

I'd agree with this. I don't have kids yet, but plan to fit in my exercise when they're awake when I do and they're old enough. I plan to teach them about living healthy from a young age, but I also want them to see me getting out there and running, and maybe they'll join in once they're old enough.
I imagine by the time I have kids, I'll value any time I can get to relax before they wake up!0 -
I try to do my exercise when my son is awake for my heavy stuff because there is jump training and I don't want to wake him up but to jump on my elliptical I wait till it is bed time or when he is asleep.0

It depends on personal preference. I try to do it when the kids are asleep or when my fiance doesn't have a problem watching them for me to go run. I've tried to do it while they are awake and it just doesn't work for me. I'm distracted trying to involve them or just keep an eye on them because my oldest son is so mischievious...0

Thank you for the responses. I asked the question because hubby wanted me to jog at noon as opposed to first thing I'm the morming. I'm a morning person and like to get exercise out of the way without distractions frommy 4 yr, 1 yr, and 2 month old daughter. He is not a morning person and doesn't want to deal with kids crying early in the morning.0

In that case, I say keep jogging in the morning. It obviously works for you, and we all have to be a bit selfish on this journey. They're his children, too. Remind him you're doing this for a longer and healthier life WITH your children.0
