Jamie Eason LiveFit Starch Question

I'm up to Phase 2 of the Jamie Eason LiveFit program. This entails cutting starches like potatoes, sweet potatoes, rice, bread out at dinner time, and replacing them with larger volumes of vegetable carbohydrates.

See: www.bodybuilding.com/fun/jamie-easons-livefit-phase-2.html

It also says no starchy carbs after 7pm.

I typically have my dinner at 6pm so that I can make it to the gym by 8pm. Does an hour make a difference? Should I have my last starchy carb for my mid-afternoon snack (around 3pm)? Or can I have a starchy carb at 6pm with my dinner??

I can't decide what to do (and I'm not on Facebook, or Bodybuilding.com, so I can't post questions on there). Please advise.

I think it depends on what time you go to bed.

Do you eat something when you come back from the gym?

As far as i'm aware timing has no impact.
I'm not an expert but I do believe this to be true.

Honestly, I don't think it matters. I've been (sort of) following this program but not the nutrition guide. I figure if I meet my macronutrient requirements. I'll be fine.

I get what she is saying about the starch, like if you're trying to lean out watching starch intake will make a difference but not the timing. I don't see the difference of eating potato's at 5pm and 7pm, either way your still eating them!
  • I go to bed around 9:30pm and do a spot of reading for 30min.

I have to admit that I haven't been following the eating plan "exactly". For example, I eat porridge for breakfast every morning rather than egg whites just because I need to make sure that I have enough energy to study during the daytime etc. I do stick to having only one serving of starch as she suggests.

I'm tempted to say that maybe I will experiment and see how my energy levels are when I hit the gym at 8pm.

Thanks for the comments everyone. Much appreciated.

I did this programme and was disappointed in my fat loss results to be honest - I followed it religiously too. Personally my verdict is her portions of everything was too large, I was eating too much, and the idea she has about carbs (in phase 3 no carbs after 3pm) is silly because it all depends on when you do your workout doesn't it.
I did get converted to the egg white omelettes tho!
carb cycling was hard work and I felt the results were only temporary (i.e. mainly water weight lost).
