Do you track your hot tea under water consumption?

I drink hot (and cold brew) tea by the cup frequently during the day. I one by Twinnings that is a cold brew tea green tea with mint! Plus, I love a wide variety of green, white, and herbal teas that I drink hot, room temperature, or cold.
I find all of the teas I drink in the database, and I log them during the time of day I drink it. However, shouldn't I then put the water under my water category??
What do you do?
Catherine
P.S. This is my 3rd day with MFP. I'm loving it!!

Why would caffeine and sugar stop it being 99% water?0 -
I don't and I drink a lot of tea. I just track how much water I drink, because it reminds me to drink it through out the day:drinker:0

To stop the OP getting confused...
Don't think caffeine will dehydrate you. So many people think because it is a diuretic it will leave you really dehydrated.
di·u·ret·ic (d-rtk)
adj.
Tending to increase the discharge of urine.
n.
A substance or drug that tends to increase the discharge of urine.
Neat water is also a diuretic. The diuretic effect of caffeine is far, far outweighed by the actual water in the tea/coffee. Also, regular consumers of caffeinated beverages will build up a tolerance to said effect, eventually reaching the point where caffeinated drinks provide practically the same amount of hydration as a cup of neat water will.

Y'all are great Thx! My teas are mostly all decaf, either naturally, or b/c I choose the decaf version. I do not add anything (sugar, honey, milk, etc...)
Thanks for all the information and opinions! I'm on my way to my goals, one day at time.
I've noticed since I started using MFP I think about things I am going to eat or drink differently b/c I want my numbers to "look good" and I don't even have them public! LOL
It really has helped me step up my discipline to get these 10 pounds and feel good this summer. I was already quite disciplined, but I have been shocked at some of the numbers being EVEN worse than I thought they would be! Truly eye opening, from a self-proclaimed health nut. We do not eat out often, and we do not eat a lot of prepackaged products. Starting to look up numbers for food that is currently available is just mind boggling... Wow
What a great tool this is, and great community!

Hi Catherine!
Personally, I don't count anything except plain water towards my water intake. I lose weight the easiest when I drink at least 2 liters of water a day.
However, please feel free to do what would work best for you - if you find that you are peeing often & it is light coloured, and you are losing weight well, there is not reason NOT to count it. If you are counting it, and things have stalled out, you might try not counting it.
Welcome to MFP!0
