The most random knee pain. Any advice?

I have been working out for just over two weeks now. I was going strong, working out well, no pain, no worries. I stretched before and after to make sure I wouldn't have any injuries.

Then about 5 days ago, I was getting ready, put my foot up on the bathroom counter to clip my toenails (which is a weekly routine) and when I was finished, my knee hurt so bad I could barely walk. It was the weirdest thing. I bought a knee brace for it, and have had pain, stiffness and a bit of numbness ever since. It's gotten a LOT better since then, but I still can't work out for very long without some serious discomfort.

And now the other knee is starting to hurt! I'm still stretching, I'm not pushing it. Where I used to run, I now walk (and not at a very fast pace, I might add). I can't use my stationary bike. (It breaks my heart. I LOVE that thing.) I was doing so well and was so motivated. I'm getting very frustrated and discouraged by this.

Please, if anyone has any advice or tips for me, I'd appreciate them. Thanks!
