Weight loss before pregnancy

I have been working on losing weight for over a year now. Before I hit my one year mark I had lost 68 lbs. 2 days after my one year mark I got married and since then I've gained back about 10 lbs. We are looking to get pregnant sometime in the future but I would like to lose 20-30 more lbs before I get pregnant. I need diet and exercise suggestions to help me do this and that are safe if I happen to get pregnant sooner than we plan. In the last 2 months I haven't really been counting everything every day so I'm pretty much starting over. Any and all suggestions would be helpful. Thank you.

    Hi!

My goal is also to get body ready for baby... Hopefully makes pregnancy, birth, and bounce back after birth easier!

I would suggest doing one session with a personal trainer, let them know your goals, and they will make a workout routine for you. Also they know what exercises you can safely do while pregnant.

I would say wait to get pregnant until you reach your goals, because then you'll be 100% sure that you are at your healthiest for the pregnancy. Being overweight can put you at risk for gestational diabetes and preeclampsia.

Also, my doctor told me to start taking 1mg folic acid daily for 1 month before we start trying :).

    Happy baby-making!

There are a couple of groups on here for getting healthy to get pregnant! I think one is "Fit for Future Pregnancy" or something like that. They are really supportive and have a ton of information!
