coming in under calories, but sugar too high

and carbs come in under too. What's causing my sugar grams to be high on MFP food tracking is fruit. I only have one square of really dark chocolate per day. Not liking the thought of possibly having to ditch the fruit as I'm near-vegetarian, plus the fact I exercise 5-6 days a week. Sticking to around 24g of sugar is going to be really HARD. Anyone have any thoughts on this? Thanks!

I posted a similar question a while ago and mostly everyone told me not to worry about sugar if its from natural (fruit) sources. I typically have 60-100g sugar per day ard none of it is refined/processed at all, so I just don't sweat it.0

I might be wrong but i think the nutrients in fruit far outweigh the natural sugars. You have to be careful still but its the refined stuff you really have to watch out for.0

Megan is right. MFP tracks all sugars, added or natural. Added means it wasn't grown with it. A peppermint would be considered added, a tomato would not. If it concerns you, subtract your natural sugars from the total and see where you stand. It is best to keep the added sugars within range but unless you're diabetic that number doesn't matter much. I'm pre-diabetic and over in my sugar everyday. I completely ignore it.0

Many years ago I was told by a former trainer that fruit (even though good for) is extremely high in sugar, especially fruits like grapes, watermelon, cantalopes, etc. He indicated that 1 cup of grapes equals a cup of suga. The trainer recommended that I eat my fruits early in the day vs in the late afternoon or evening...I agree with everyone, I would ignore it unless you have a medical condition and you need to watch your sugar intake.0

Wow! 1 cup of sugar?0 -
Thanks everyone for the support! I can tell this is going to be a great community here! I was thinking the same thing about added sugars vs. natural sugars. I'll use that suggestion to subtract added sugars from the natural ones and see where I stand.0

I am glad you posted this as the same thing is happening to me! I'm always over in at least 2 categories but only slightly! Im new to this site and need some guidance, do I take it that in order to lose weight I need to be as close to the daily targets as possible? sounds pretty obvious now I've said it myself!!!!!!0
