Hi all. Tomorrow I start a low calorie diet (1200 to 1400). Any tips on sticking to this limit? Should I cut out snacks? Skip breakfast? Doesn't seem like there's room for much with such limited intake. Thanks for any tips ! Gota drop 25 lbs!

I did low cal for like 3months...still eat all day breakfast, snack, lunch, snack, dinner...

to do this i cut out ALL junkie food and most breads, rice, carbs....

    example day:

breakfast: 3 eggwhites 1 yolk, with half grapefruit or apple

snack 1: protein shake or edamame

lunch: 4oz meat and a cup of veggies

snack: carrots or celery or raisins

    dinner:protein and veggies

depending on how much for that day i would add more fruit or veggies..or maybe a little treat. but try not to do low carb for too long

Don't skip meals!! (unless you've researched IF and decide to go with it)

Fill your plate with plenty of veggies, fruit, protein, and salad, and you'll be full. I still eat everything I used to eat, just in much smaller portions, and have increased veggie content in my food. Carbs aren't evil for me, so I eat them.

Try a couple of different approaches for 2-3 weeks each and see what yields the best result for you. DIfferent things work for different people, so take in all the advice that you get from others and try to work out what works best for you.

Definitely don't skip meals! That'll drive you nuts and make it hard to sustain.
Just work on finding lots of low-cal foods and have lots of veggies. For example, you can have instant oatmeal with raisins for breakfast for less than 200 calories! Spaghetti squash is another super low calorie food too. You can pretty much have everything in moderation if you have good portions!
You can add me as well if you want to see examples of 1200-1400 calorie days. :D

When I restrict to that low of calories, all I do is limit my junk food to once every few days when I start getting a craving. The rest of the time, I can eat everything in sight and still not reach my limit. I eat fruits, veggies, rolls, rice, pasta, chicken, eggs, and shrimp pretty much exclusively. I am so full, I find myself forcing food in to make sure I don't stop under 1000 for the day. Good luck!

I wouldn't cut out snacks or breakfast! In fact, breakfast is really the most important meal of the day! Load it up with protein in the morning to keep you fuller longer. Eat small, healthy snacks around 100-200 calories. There are plenty of filling meals that are low in calories... you just need to learn how to eat healthier to keep your body full and avoid fatty junk food and sweets! Also, if you are working out, eat your exercise calories! :)
