Today I had to weigh in for the lose 5 lbs in May Challenge. I was soooo good this week! In addition to my regular workouts at the gym, I've also started doing 2 Jillian DVDs as well... So that's 2 workouts a day. I'm always under my calories for the day, and I eat well! Today I stepped on the scale and saw I went up 2 pounds!!! I seriously wanted to cry... Ok, maybe I did actually cry a little... Lol. I'm getting married in August and I'm really wanting to look my best. I feel like these last 10 pounds are never going to come off. I feel like I'm running out of time :( I know there's theories about having to eat more to lose weight, but I feel I don't have enough time to experiment with this- incase I just keep gaining!! My daily cals are 1480... When I workout a lot, I usually will eat closer to 1600 calories, while still having a large deficit. ANY advice I could get from MFP peeps would be much appreciated!!!!
Thank you!

The last 10 lbs is very hard to lose. I know anytime I bump up my exercise, I ALWAYS see a bump up on my scale for a week or two. It's happened to me enough that I understand it is my body holding on to water to heal my muscles. After about two weeks, the scale starts to go down again. Don't get discouraged. It will happen.

When I reached a plateau, I invested in a HRM. My body simply required less calories to perform the same workouts every day.

I have a couple of rest days between intense workouts. This seems to work for me.

Now I make sure my heart rate is in the anaerobic stage for at least 20% of my workouts. My watch classifies this stage as "Zone 3". Anaerobic stage is when your heart rate reaches a point where it burns calories like crazy. I won't lie, it's a struggle to even stay in this stage, I often want to give up and crash to the floor to rest.

You can read more info on the "Heart Rate" Wiki page.

another problem could be that you are working out too much and not eating enough.

I've been the same situation for a long time in the 4 months or so I've been working out 4-5 days a week and eating within range but did not see the scale drop down at all! But recently I upped my calorie intake after reading this post (http://www.myfitnesspal.com/topics/show/538381-in-place-of-a-road-map). It's scary at first and the scale still did not move for 2 weeks, but after the body adjust, the lbs have been coming off now even though I worked out less (only 3 times a week now) and ate more (ate back work out calories)!

    hopefully this helps. :)

I had something similar this morning. Don't usually do much exercise, but on Saturday and Sunday I did a 60 and 90-minute walk respectively (and ate reasonably within calorie limits)

Weighed this morning and was 2lbs heavier than on Saturday!

Let's hope it disappears again (also trying to lose last 10lbs)
