I'm hoping to start this and stick with it this time. I went to the gym for a couple months and then gradually let myself get too many excuses not to go. My big problem was that I wasn't dropping weight because I didn't change how I eat and I know that's gonna be even tougher than getting my butt into a gym.
I'm 32 and have 2 young kids. I want to be healthier for them so that I don't get so worn out from playing with them and can actually get out and run around with them. I need to loose 100+ but know I need to set some shorter term goals to get there.
If anyone's local, I'm signing up at Planet Fitness in Burton MI today. If you'd like to maybe have a workout buddy once in a while, hit me up

I joined a weight loss challenge to help with accountability. I also learn a tremendous amount about which foods will help in my weight loss journey. I use Herbalife products, and I feel better than I have in years.0

Welcome! I started out by going to a nutritionist. I have gluten sensitivity that pops up from time to time, and knowing that I may need to go gluten free again was my motivator. However, even with NOT currently being gluten-free, I wanted to know what I need to do to eat right. Visiting the nutritionist was a great step.
I like the idea above of joining a weight loss challenge for accountability. I joined MFP with a friend back in February, and having her doing it with me helps keep me in check. I also have noticed that when I think of calories as dollars, I think more about what I'm eating - which items are not worth the money?
Another thing I have done that helps keep me in check - I set it so that my daily food log is accessible to my friends (at least I THINK it's just my friends) so that when I finish a day, the link is there to see my food log. If I think I may feel badly about what I've eaten that day, I'm less likely to eat it!
Feel free to add me as a friend - it helps to have others motivate you! Good luck in your journey!0 -
