I've found that whenever I have a big revelation and say "I'm GOING to do it this time- I'm going to exercise everyday and eat right and lose weight" I always end up failing after three or four days.

Today, I woke up, and decided- hey, I'll have a banana and some toast for breakfast. And then I had a glass of water. And I got up for another glass of water. And another one.
Then, for lunch, I looked up what I was eating BEFORE I ate it, made sure I was doing fine for the day.
Then I had a snack around three- an apple instead of Lays Chips.
And for dinner I had some low-calorie, low-sodium soup and crackers.
And now, here I am- 8:30 pm, and 475 calories left for the day. Of course, I'm craving dessert, and I have a little room to play with this time!

But my main point is, this time, there was no revelation, no epiphany, no smack on the butt. It started with the banana and toast for breakfast, instead of three bowls of cereal. And then came the water, and the chicken for lunch, and the soup.
I've figured it's all about small steps. They all lead to one more good choice, and by the end of the day, I feel amazing!

I'm going to utilize all the sources I have now. I may not be able to go to the gym everyday, but when I babysit my second cousin, there's an elliptical I can go on at their house, in full view of the toddler. My aunt is a nutritionist, if I ever have questions, she's a phone call away. And finally, my dad is trying to lose weight, so there's finally some semi-healthy food in the house.

Good grief today has been amazing.

Oh, and PS-
I drank nine glasses of water today (maybe that's why I haven't been so hungry). But, FYI, I'm lucky if I ever get 3 glasses of water- so nine is astonishing. Of course, I've been a faucet all day long, if you know what I mean.

Anyways, I just wanting to share the awesome news! Yahooooooooo!

Maybe you can get your dad on here, and have a diet buddy right there in your home.
This reminds me of that Nutra Grain commercial where they say one good decison leads to another. My small step happend yesterday, when I realised that since I started walking with my hubby, and making time to exercise, I had more energy than I used to. :flowerforyou:

    Congrats!

@. This time, my best friend started losing weight and I jumped on the train. She kept getting smaller and smaller which made me jealous so it worked well for me this time. HAHA. She went from 181lbs to 137.5lbs. I have lost 38.5 pounds thus far and am trying to lose (at least) another 7 before my cousin's wedding in Aug. Looking good in a dress, for the 1st time in years seems like a good idea.

Sometimes, you have an "uh-huh" moment, sometimes it just happens with small steps. GOOD LUCK!

Good for you. It just takes a few good choice to lead to more and more...

P.S. I noticed your ticker. Some of us have started a cycling club/challenge. Check it out if you're interested...

I have the same problem, usually i quit within a week or two I have to say this website has helped me tremendously! I do the same thing, looking up the food before i eat it and it helps me make the better choice Its been almost a month since i started and now i find it hard to eat 1,200 calories a day Im finding myself forcing myself to eat sometimes and allowing myself to have more treats because I do so well during the day! YEAH I LOVE CHOCOLATE! but now its in moderation instead of overload...keep it up, i now im gonna try!
