Hoarding Calories

I have a problem with hoarding calories. I get so afraid that I will not have enough for dinner that I don't eat very much throughout the day and then have alot of calories left over at night which isn't a good time to be eating them.
Do you guys create meal plans to make sure it is a little more balanced?
It doesn't matter if you eat most of your calories at night so long as you aren't exceeding your maximum (and it's better to look at your consumption for the week; a 24-hour period doesn't matter). In some ways, I think it's good to have a reserve, especially if you enjoy eating a big dinner.
I keep track of my calories as I go along. If you're concerned about eating late at night, figure out some meals to eat earlier in the day.0 -
Just make sure that all cats are accounted for, and not getting squished under any hoarded calories.
Humor and weight loss.....good times!

Why don't you think eating at night is a good time? I eat 2/3 of my calories between 6:30 and 9:30 pm, then march to bed while finishing my last bite. Unless you have digestive or blood sugar issues, there's no reason not to eat at night if you want to.

You want to be careful with eating most of your calories at night. If you don't eat enough throughout the day, your body will store the calories you eat at night because it doesn't think it's going to get enough nutrients during the day.
Myth. I lost 140 lbs in 7 months eating like this.

Myth indeed.0 -
Thanks everyone for your suggestions. I am going to try to get a meal plan together so I can better account for my points! We will see how that goes!0

I tend to enter in my food ahead of time. My weeks are pretty stable and I eat pretty much the same stuff daily so it's pretty predictable.
Try entering what you plan on having the night before and then you can adjust as needed.
Edit: typo
I totally like this idea, I tend to eat the same things too or at least know what I will be eating ahead of time. Ie leftovers or written on my meal plan.0 -
if there is not enough room for dinner you will probably not be that hungry anyway and you could always work it off if you go over. don't worry. just eat whe you are hungry, as long as it is healthy things.0

I eat at least 2/3 of my calories at night. I don't have a big appetite during the day plus I'm super busy. And I love a big dinner.0

I typically plan my meals the day before. I know this may sound boring, but it helps GREATLY in planning a balanced day of food intake/nutrients . I also have very long days, leave at 630am and don't get home til almost 10pm, so it's vital I have my food game plan ready to go in the morning.0

I've read that. Myth too! It doesn't really matter when you eat, just try to eat all your calories with healthy choices.0 -
There's nothing wrong with eating at night, medical conditions aside. The concept of late night eating = fat gain is entirely false.
Agreed. My opinion is that that belief comes from people who eat all their calories during the day, then continue eating at night putting them over. Hence they gain weight due to excess calories, not the time of the day.
