I'm about to get a gym membership because I'd like to start lifting, the only problem is I have no idea how to go about it. What types of lifts, how many reps, how many days a week, ect. If anyone would be willing to help me out I would greatly appreciate it, thanks!

I've heard Stronglifts is good, and I would also recommend bodybuilding.com--their site has a wealth of information even for beginners.0

I also think 5 Factor Fitness by Harley Pasternak is a good book for the beginning weightlifter.0

Don't forget Rippetoe's Starting Strength. It's like a weightlifting bible. I think there was like 40-50 pages of info just on the deadlift alone.0

Strong Lifts is my personal favorite.0 -
two books: "new rules of lifting for women" and womens health "big book of exercises for women"
my fav' of the two is the "big book of exercies for women" - it breaks down each section of your major muscles and gives you different exercises for those particular muscles. You can pick and choose any exercise you want to do from each section for a full body workout. Also it has alot of workout plans laid out for you, all you have do is follow. Great book to throw in your gym bag and head to the gym. good luck!0 -
