Jogging issues

This morning was the first time I've ever experienced chest pain while jogging, I've never had something like this happen. I'd rate the pain level at maybe a 4/10. I stopped because I was worried. I started jogging before work two weeks ago.

Is this common/can anyone relate? I didn't do any exercise these past two days - does this have something to do with it?

The weird thing is that when I hold my breath, and "gulp" in more air - to expand my lungs - it feels better, not that the pain goes away, but it feels like it alleviates some of it. I'm going to schedule an appointment w/ my doctor, but I just want to see if anyone else can relate to this. Here's what I do on a daily basis:

My weekday routine (one of the following):
a)Morning: 3 miles jogging, >12mph; After work: 1.5 hrs of hiking >10lb load; stretching before/after
b)Morning: 3 miles jogging, >12mph; After work: 1.5-2 hrs surfing; stretching before/after
c) After work: 1.5 hrs of hiking; evening 4 miles jogging, 45 mins of: push/pull ups and gravity boot exercises; stretching before/after

Weekends:
a) surfing, 2-4 hrs
b) hiking 8-14 hrs <30lb load

Thanks in advance.

This happened to my husband a couple of times and it turned out to be a pinched nerve in the chest cavity area. But I think you are wise to get it checked out anyway. Good luck.

    Sounds like heartburn?
