I was in a car accident last week and I'm dealing with neck and shoulder pain. The scale says I've rested enough and I need to get back into working out, but I don't want to put any strain on or do anything jarring to my neck and shoulders for a bit. (My back is a little sore, but not enough to deter me from exercises that utilize it). I'm blanking on things to do other than walking or squats. I originally wanted to lose 12 more lbs by the end of next month, but that won't happen. I'm going to shoot for about 6 now if I can find effective exercises that don't hurt. Does anybody have any suggestions for exercises that would help get me back on track?

Hi. I had sever whiplash a year and a half ago, which was awful as I love to dance and be active (as well as being a kindergaten teacher). My strongest recommendation is,1:find a good yoga teacher who will retrain your muscles to streach and relax ( this is important)and carefully strenghten. 2:, power walking Do not run or jog. Walking up hill, perhaps on a treadmilll and use your arms to power yourself and ensure you are moving from the hip, not knee, push through with your pelvis. You must keep mobile and be positive but be aware that these injuries need care.:flowerforyou:

Thank you. Yoga is a good idea and I'll hop on the treadmill to do some walking.
