I feel you on that sorry I dont have any info for you on HIIT ether!0 -
I'd goggle it!
I've followed the Turbo Fire dvds -well, just one class- but I wouldn't know how to do it on my own!0 -
If you have a treadmill or elliptical you can do high intensity on those machines as well. I have done Chalene HITT (turbo fire HITT) and I also do HITT on the elliptical. I'll do 30 seconds really fast on the highest incline forward and 30 seconds backwards and then 1 minute of rest. I have also done 30 seconds forward and 30 seconds backwards twice and then 2 minutes of rest. It all depends on how I feel. Good luck in your search.0

example of basic hiit...
light warm up.. followed by 30-1 minute walk or jog.. followed by a all out sprint for 30-1 minute.. set a time whatever you can handle.. for 15-25 mintues..
you can pretty much set it up for anything cardio related ...
All out.. followed by a relax period. (with set times)
they aren't really gym workouts.. but hiit has a really basic concept so whatever cardio you pick jsut set it up like that and you have hiit.0 -
Here is an example of a HIIT workout on a blog I sometimes read: http://fitnessista.com/2012/03/hot-mess-hiit-workout/
If you type HIIT into the search bar on her blog you will find a lot more!
Good luck0 -
If you check out youtube bodyrock tv and zuzka light do some HIIT style stuff.
I do a basic 4 minute routine of tons of burpees.(using this timer http://www.beach-fitness.com/tabata/)
As others have said, if you are on a machine, do 30 seconds at 90% effort, then 15 seconds at 50% effort. It's really much easier to do on a track/trail. If you find you like doing it you can buy a timer (GymBoss) that you can put the intervals into.0 -
If you have a smartphone, you can get the app "Gymboss" its interval training and it is awesome!!!check it out!0

I have a side road that is relatively flat. I warm up(stretching and a jog for 5 min or so) then I sprint to the end of the road, balls to the wall and then I walk back and repeat the process. I aim for 8-10 sprints on normal days. If I for some reason miss a leg workout that week I will do hill sprints(10-12). Really good leg builder.
This concept can be done on any machine in the gym. Simple switch between a low intensity exercise (lasting around a min) and a high intensity one (lasting 30ish seconds) The numbers don't really matter. What matters is that you are upping your heart rate for period of time to give your body the afterburn effect.0 -
Some good ones, thanks0
