I just bought a Polar FT4 monitor. It was really the only thing in my price range with all the features I wanted. However, from reading posts, it seems like that is a good brand.

I have not tried it yet. I just got an email a few mins ago saying it shipped so ask me in a week and I should know more!

    I've got a New Balance N4 - love it!

Figure out what you want & check eBay for auctions for new items - I got mine for $26 instead of the $70 retail price.

i heard the bodymedia fit was good
I borrowed a body media device from a friend and used it for about a month or so. It was very easy to use and came with a watch that displayed the calories burned. The only thing I didn't like is that they charge you a monthly fee to access their website and see the simple charts of your burns and workouts. So that's why I went with the Polar, as their website is free.
