is it bad or good to do a cleanse before starting a diet?

I just bought a 5 day juice cleanse on Amazon, (no not a Hollywood diet fad one) it has fiber and all that basically to clean out your colon and stuff. It had a lot of good reviews. I heard cleanses give you a lot of natural energy as well. My question is though... will living off juice for 5 days slow my metabolism and therefore make it harder for me to lose weight when I start my diet after I finish the cleanse? Or will it have the reverse effect and give my diet a "kickstart"? Has anyone done this before? I'd love to hear your thoughts.
