I am nursing a lot of low back pain, and have going on week 2 on no workouts. Any ideas on low impact exercise that I could do..
I was thinking maybe yoga and some small hand weights.
P.S Walking is even painful

Is it in the spine or in the muscle? Acute or gradual?

Went to doc today they are thinking muscle, it is a constant pain, except when I move then it is sharp take my breath away pain.

I rested all last week, I need to get back to doing something, I cant just sitting when I have a goal.

I have lower back pain, all of my lumbar discs are deflating some bone on bone others just in the process of getting there. I keep my core strong, I lift sitting down, keeps me from putting to much stress on my back, I keep a close eye on my form when working out and, I think most important I work with a educated trainer who doesn't whimp out on me he keeps coming up with ways for me to continue exercising and gaining strengh. I'm also waiting on a knee replacement, so I know exercise can still be done after an injury. Good luck you can do this

I use a a foam roller and I love it! My trainer introduced it to me because of my back and hip pain. It's a great way to massage the muscles. Place the foam roller between your back and the wall and roll it around...when you hit a bad spot just lean into and hold it. I use it on the floor too when I need more pressure...you can use it on the hips and legs too. When I have problems walking I will use it several times during the day until I can walk again (usually within a few days with the foam roller instead of the weeks or months without it!)

Yoga is good too. I can only use a beginners dvd I found because I can't transition very fast.
