5k advise

I'm by no means a runner. I hate running. I did, however, just sign up to do a 5k this Saturday. It's for Girls on the Run. I think it's an amazing organization and I really want to support what they do. I have just a few short days to prepare for this, and of course I work 10 hours tomorrow, and the usual 8 everyday thereafter.
So, my question is what is the best way to prepare? Take it easy until then, or try to practice running? I do turbo fire workouts, so I am capable of doing cardio. I feel like I'm fairly fit. Not sure if I should strength train this week, or build up cardio. Any thoughts?

I would say just keep doing what you are doing. I have a friend who only did crossfit before his first 5k and he did just fine. If you can work out for 30-45min straight you should be fine to finish. In my opinion.0
