Has anyone tried the Special K plan? Do you like it or no?

    It's ridiculous.
A bowl of special k with milk is around 200 cals, so it's pretty much recommending a 1000 calorie diet while buying large amounts of special k which is no good for anyone.

Any short term low cal 'diet' will mean you are likely to regain most or all of the weight when you return to normal eating.
The best way to lose and keep it off is to learn to be patient!!! Set a healthy loss goal on mfp, stick to your cals including eating back exercise, and your loss will be steady and sustainable :-)

Just read your profile - 5lbs every 3 weeks is asking too much of your body with what you have to lose. You should aim for 1lb/week, and don't be discouraged if your loss is slower, that is perfectly normal as you get closer to goal.

Keep up the sports, get enough fuel in your body and you will get there :-)

I imagine it's just another restricted calorie fad diet. Replacing meals with cereal and cereal bars and having only one real meal and all that jazz. I don't see the point. Why have a bowl of cereal for breakfast if you can fill up on more fibrous and protein-filled meals, like eggs and mashed black beans (my favorite!!). Why have a cereal bar when you can have an apple and/or yogurt? Or something similarly nutritious? It just makes no sense to me. I suppose it might be easier for some people to have their meals already planned out, but I like a variety! :)

Anywho... do what you think is best for you. If you think you'll succeed on it, do it. You'll probably definitely lose weight, but it's not always about just losing weight, you want to be healthy and eat nutrient rich foods as well. :)

I do not do the plan, but I do eat special K for breakfast as well as have a shake late at night, I snack 3-4 times a day and have 1 meal either lunch or dinner. and I am down 19lbs in 1 month (of staying focused)

There is ZERO (or close to) protein and fibre in most Special K cereals. I end up being hungry almost immediately after eating the cereal. Unless you add fibre and some protein, it's useless. All of the Special K line is pumped up with sugar as well. There is VERY little nutritional value to the Special K foods, I think it's practically empty calories.

Love a bowl of special k red berries for breakfast, but the "diet" left me hungry which caused me to binge.

The cereal is great tho, only 5g of sugar!
I like to add slivered almonds and some raspberries to make it more filling.
