One Way Metabolism?

Following the usual right old ding-dong about starvation mode....what do we know about metabolism working the other way.?
If our metabolism is so fine-tuned that it can quickly (?) adjust to downward intake, would it not be possible, once at goal, to slowly increase intakel until back at TDEE?
Any science on this, or personal experience?

Have a look for "refeeding studies", including the Minnesota Starvation Study.
Executive summary - yes, the metabolic rate responds to refeeding and increases over time.0 -

Why would you want to speed your metabolic rate again?
You just cause your body to age faster.........
