Count Vitamin Calories?

Hi! I was wondering: what's the general consensus about counting the calories in vitamins and supplements? I track them in my food tracker, but is it necessary? I take a multivitamin (gummy ones because regular ones make me sick to my stomach), a magnesium supplement and a slow release iron supplement.

Thanks!

I would log anything that has calories.......including gummy vitamins.

I take the gummy vitamins also, and don't log them. Mine have 15 calories in 2 gummies, so I figure that's pretty negligable. But that's just me!

I would log the gummy ones, as they are probably from sugars.

I log my vitamins everyday, but none of them have calories. Hmmm...

As long as you're consistent with your choice, it doesn't matter.

I don't log mine. I don't have the patience for it and it's not like take my vitamins made me fat but it's really an individual choice. If you want to do it, then do it. If not, don't.

If candy had the same amount of calories, would you log it?

I log them to track nutrients, but I log the ones with calories for sure. When I take my multivitamins (veggie gummy), calcium chews, and Ovega-3, it adds up to 95 calories. Now that I am in the habit of taking my vitamins, I am going to switch to non-caloried calcium and multivitamins because of this.

I count mine... it's only 15 for my multivitamin + calcium/D + fish oil so it's not a big deal... could see the arguement either way for that reason :)

I understand your point, but for most of us, it wasn't one food that made us fat... It was the inability to see the bigger picture of what we were eating

Of course log them, calories or not, track nutrients.

Gummy vitamins would, or anything containing oil.
