Why does my gum say it has calories when i'm not swallowing the gum? And do sugar alcohols spike my insulin? I don't want that to happen.

Alcohol (not beer) lowers your sugar. Beer and wine increases your sugars. Both lower metabolism.
You are swallowing when you chew gum, that's why the gum looses it's flavor after a while, because your saliva is breaking down the gum fibers and releasing ingredients into your mouth that you swallow.0
