Today is starting out pretty much the norm...tantrum first thing. lol I do believe it's because we put him back on his meds. It's been three weeks so I think he should start balancing out again soon.
Auntie F showed up last night and came with a punch. That's probably due to my poor eating habits and lack of exercise lately. I have officially gained back every single pound since I started this site. I really don't understand how. I know some of it will go away in a few days. I don't feel much bigger than I did a few months ago. Oh well. I'll get it off.
I think I will do pretty good on this diet after the first week or so (except for the fruit and juice!). I found I like raw almonds. I don't like salty ones. I love the sugar roasted ones.My only problem is breakfast. I can't do eggs every morning. I am still tired of them from doing the South Beach 3-4 years ago! I don't like oatmeal. I really don't know what to do. I'll probably have to do eggs most of this week because I couldn't afford to buy special flours. Anyone know anything about Stevia? They suggest that instead of sugar. I've never had it. I wonder if Splenda would work. Is that sugar?
So what do you all have planned today? I pulled weeds this morning. I need to do dishes and finish laundry. That will be the extent of my exercise. We are going to a friend's house for a 4th party. Not much in the party mood, especially when I only know the hosts and not even them very well.
I'm done. I'm kind of complainy today. Sorry about that. I hope you all have a wonderful day and stay as cool as possible!

Happy Independence Day!
Today is my day off from exercise and good thing. MM, I'm having the same visitor as you, and it's BAD! I was blaming the fact that it's a week late and twice as bad on the fact that I've been exercising harder and eating better. . .so it looks like we ladies can't win.:ohwell: My big workout plan for the day involves a heating pad and the couch.
Fruit is out for you right now, right MM? I hate typical "breakfast-y foods" so I usually do a smoothie in the a.m. They seem to need some fruit (although I used to have an egg protein powder that worked with just some yogurt and peanut butter and ice. . .I actually ordered some since I've been craving it.) Also, sometimes I'll have a piece of cheese and some nuts.
Stevia is an extract from a plant, and I could never get used to it. I just did without. Splenda is pretty chemically, so I try to stay away from it. For sweeteners, I use agave nectar or honey. (but those might be out for you right now).
That's my novel.
Beautiful, cool summer day boogaloo!
Take care.:flowerforyou:0 -
Sorry you feel rotten V, I hope the heating pad and couch help!
Fruit is out, though I can have unsweetened cranberries, and I think a fruit every great once in awhile is okay. I wondered about agave nectar, and I like it but I don't know if that counts or not. I didn't realize how heavily I rely on sugar. This particular website says no dairy at all or peanut butter (but I can have other nut butters) so I am wondering if this is just about yeast or if it's dealing with allergies at the same time. I really don't know. I still can't find my little book on it. I may have to buy it again. If it wasn't for breakfast I think I would be okay on this diet. I think I can make it work.
I also think it must be too hot for mosquitoes. I have spent a good part of the morning outside and never got bit. I have been bitten twice in the house. :grumble:
Stay cool boos!

Is the book "The Yeast Connection?" I have it somewhere. . .I think.
The peanut butter is because sometimes the peanuts sit around a long time and can grow a type of fungus (I make my own now because of this).
What I remember is the first phase was "M.E.V.Y." Meat, eggs, vegetables and yogurt. I hated the first phase. But, I didn't die. . .
Agave's probably out for now, but it has a super-low glycemic index, which is why I use it.0 -
It's not the Yeast Connection. It's a really thin small book. I forget the title. Candida and Yeast Infections or something like that. I'll see if I can find Yeast Connection at the library. It's okay to have yogurt on phase one? Hmmm, maybe I need to find a different site to look at. This one says no yogurt. That would help me with breakfast if I could have yogurt. I think I need to do some more research. Thanks V.
