Caloric breakdown

I have read many times on this site that effective weight loss and body fat reduction is a result of a low carb approach to dieting. A lot of posters have recommended a 40/30/30 allocation of carb/protein/fat intake.
For my individual situation MFP has set me up with a daily net calorie goal of 2020. The allocation is 55/15/30. My goal is to lose 1lb. per week. Is this ratio advisable? Or should I manually change it to coincide with the low carb approach.
