I had seen a documentary on discovery once which hypothesized that if the bees go extinct, humans along with most animals will die out too.

Another cause for bee population decline is cell phone radiation. We'll still have to wait for the verdict on long term cell phone usage on humans. But it will take time like it did for cigarettes.
