Training for a 5k.

In July The Color Run comes to Michigan and I REALLY REALLY want to do this. I'm not concerned with "winning" or "being first" but just finishing within a good time frame.

but I've never ran a 5k before and I'm wondering if there's any websites or suggestions for training. I tried doing a google search but I really didn't find anything.

I'm the kind of person who needs real structure to understand something. Like "Do X times X for X" and something, not just "go do whatever until you feel like it". I like schedules, plans, structure. That's what I need.

So if anybody has anything like that or can give me some great advice on how to train for a 5K, that'd be super! :D

Runnersworld.com has some training programs that you can tailor to your own desires. You just put in your information, and it can spit out a training schedule to give you a good idea of what you should follow. Also couch to 5K is a good option, if you're a beginning runner.
