best exercise

hi, please could anyone help me out with exercise.. what is the best exercise??? and how often??, i carry most of my weight on my bottom,thighs and legs!!! and its soooo annoying because i just cant seem to loose it from them stubborn areas,i have recently borrowed my mother in laws treadmill.. how long should i go on it and what speed?? please give me some tips am in desperate need lol... thanks xx
