eating more fat?

So I recently came across this article:

http://www.keeperofthehome.org/2011/04/good-fats-bad-fats-and-why-i-eat-plenty-of-butter.html

And it got me thinking. I was just gearing up for my next push to take off some weight. I started tracking my diet and exercise habits on MFP again. I've been at it for about two weeks and have allowed myself more fat than I normally would. I've been careful to make it good fat--mostly extra virgin olive oil and butter. I'm making an effort to stay away from processed food, fast-food etc. On most days, I go over my fat and protein allowances on MFP, but under my carb and calorie goals. I've not tried to cut out all carbs, just unhealthy carbs. My carbs generally come from stuff like quinoa, whole wheat bread or brown rice.

Has anyone else tried this approach and had success?
