Hey guys.
TDEE = 3378
BMR = 2020
Cut = 2870

Is it normal for my cut to be 850 calories more than my BMR?

    It just seemed like a massive gap to me that's all. But if it's fine it's fine. :)

    BMR 1625
    TDEE 2804
    15% Cut 2383

    758 is mine

    6'0, 190lbs, 40 yrs old

    My TDEE changes daily though. On the days I work & strength train it can be as high as 3500.

    Anyways you are good. The numbers are what they are.

    OH yeah you're the protein guy, who i did all the calculations for...

    It's just hard to grasp. I've done everything "wrong" for 10 years. I keep second guessing myself. I'm doing it, but it's difficult to accept. I'm sure you understand.

    Looks like you're trying to find a magic solution, there isn't one... takes time it takes patience. Honestly, you wouldn't know if your cut is working or not for 4 weeks, due to water retention and glycogen storage. Just stick to a number... that's it, the more you diddle around messing with numbers the longer it will take.

    Nope, not looking for anything magic. I'm just trying to make sure I am doing it correctly as it just sounds wrong every time I look at it.

    I've been eating so little for so long. This is a new concept that's all.

    LOL Pu means well. He put a lot of effort into helping me a few days ago. I don't blame him for being offended/upset.

    Your cut value changes with your TDEE; your BMR basically stays the same (small changes as you lose weight or get older, but not day-to-day changes like TDEE).

    If you're very active, there will be a big gap between BMR and what you're eating.

    Awesome, thank you. It just shocked me a bit. I am very active now which is new. So I am re-feeding glyco stores, eating lots of sodium (working on my diet) and storing water due to strength training.

    Just a lot going on in my head and I am working to manage it.

    What I CAN tell you is I am improving on my running, have 3x more energy, and my brain seems way more active. So I am very happy with that.

    I also don't understand how any of this works. My assumption and "training" in weight loss has always been few calories in, lots out. So for someone to tell me to eat 1800 calories a day all doesn't make sense to me.
