Hello
I am a bridesmaid in just under 3 weeks time, I went for my bridesmaid dress fitting and was dishearted when my dress did not fit!?!?
The shop told me that I had gained 1 inch on my bust, and 2 on both my waist and hips, I looked back on my Wii Fit chart and since being measured I have LOST 13 lb.
Can someone please tell me if it is possible for a woman to loose nearly a stone and GAIN 5 inches?? As I think the shop have measured me wrong.
I now need to loose these inches to fit into my dress, please help?!

Hi Kay,
You poor thing, what a nightmare! I am a friend's Maid of Honour in September and that's the reason I'm trying to lose weight! Do you think you have gained much muscle? I started at the gym a couple of months ago and I lost about 4 lbs but found that my arms and legs were all bigger from the muscle gain. Though with 13lbs lost I really think you should be smaller, and your waist and hips are not typical places for muscle gain. What about your other clothes? Do they feel smaller? If so, I would think that perhaps the shop might be wrong. Is it too late for them to take it out?
As for losing the inches, I am no expert and really don't know a healthy way to suggest, other than a last minute effort of eating very carefully in the week's run up to the wedding and avoiding any foods that may cause bloating. There are crash diets like the cabbage soup type that I know people use to fit into dresses for events, but I wouldn't really recommend them - as a bridesmaid you'll need a lot of energy! I think your best bet would be to go back to the shop asap (perhaps with a nice assertive friend if you're as hopeless as I am) and explain the situation and the urgency. They should hopefully be able to have the dress taken out a little for you.
Good luck though, I really hope it works out alright.

OMG THATS HORRIBLE! Im a bridesmaid next week and i wouldve been soo disheartened.
How long ago were you fitted for the dress before you started working out? that may have something to do with it also. they may have measured wrong one of the time. I wouldnt completely freak out over you...i would mainly think error at some point
to lose inches to a lot of HIIT and strength training. that helps get rid of inches and go for a HIGH PROTEIN DIET. My trainer had me on a protein diet just for a week when i was trying to lose weight fast for a specific reason

that makes noooooo sense, they probably measured you wrong =( do your other clothes still fit?0

Thanks all for your comments, my clothes are fitting fine, smaller if anything.
I havent been working out as I suffer with Fibromyalgia so I cant hit the Gym like i used to, I have been going on toning plates to try and wriggle some lumps and bumps out, but that is only since the dress trial
It is too late for them to order a new size as we have waited 6 months for this one, I was very assertive with the shop and they gave me no form of sympathy and just blaimed me! On checking my weight loss progress when getting home I could see what I had lost.
They are already working with taking it out, but the max they can go is an inch on the hips and waist so I do still have a further inch to loose.
At the moment I am eating sensible (Like I have for years now) and drinking LOADS of water to try and flush toxins out.
I really feel quite deflated as I am nearly 4 stone lighter than I was a few years back, its silly that its knocking me back as I know that I have achieved so much!

They got the sizing wrong in the first place. There is no way that you have lost 13 pounds and are bigger. You are at least 1 size smaller. Be assertive - tell them that they are talking nonsense and got the measurements wrong in the first place.0

Go out and buy Jillian Michaels 30 day shred . If you can do it you can lose those inches and then some, good luck x0

I would do the HIT intervals. If you don't have a treadmill find a track and sprint 100m and jog or walk 100m for 30mins. I wish you the best of luck and keep us posted.0

I also think they measured wrong. Try not to let it get you down-you've still achieved so much and it's just their error for ordering the wrong size. I second getting 30 Day Shred, I lost inches all over doing it. I would also maybe try on some Spanx and see if that helps. Best of luck with it!0

I had my daughter's bachelorette party this weekend and both her and her maid of honor will have to lose some weight to fit in their dresses. I do know they were measured correctly...lol. My daughter is having the first taste of uh oh...I have to watch what I eat. Good luck and I wish you all the best. Congrats to the happy couple as well.0
