FITBIT Help!

Hi Everyone,
First post - be kind :-)
I have a FitBit [second week using now] and decided that I would use it to ensure I lost 2.5lb every 2 weeks.
So my plan was -800 defecit on Fri - Sun, and then -500 on Mon - Thurs.
I sneaky peaked on scales on Sat & Sun morning and they were going down so I was happy and thought this is working for me.
I'll be honest, my defecit has mainly been created by exercise as I can't seem to restrict my food intake and stick too it.
Upping my exercise to get the right defecit [use Polar HRM so know cal burn is accurate] is much more feasible for me.
Anyway, not SP for 2 days and this morning I stepped on and showing 3.5lb gain.
Normally, I don't show a gain as big as that unless its going to stick around [fluctuation is +1lb not 3.5lb!!]
I'm dumbfounded.
So my question really is - those who use Fitbit, have you found your defecit is not accurate for your loss when its created by exercise alone?
