Never give up...

Sometimes I feel as though I say this, or something to the same effect, all the time.
"Never give up on a dream due to the time it takes to accomplish it, the time will pass anyway"
I don't know who said it first, I don't even know where I got it from... but the words are sooo true! More often than not, we as 'dieters' (sorry for the 'dirty' word), tend to want QUICK and WONDERFUL results...and we want them NOW! Each day, or week, or month, we step on that scale and if the numbers aren't dropping as quickly as we like we think of giving up. Why go on? Why work so hard for that quarter of a pound? WHY?! Because WE are worth it! We are worth the end result!
You have a wedding in 6 months! You have a friend coming to visit in three weeks, you haven't seen her in a year! You really want to lose 50 pounds by your 10 year high school reuinion! Your doctor says "Lose 80 pounds or I'm putting you on medication" and you have to see him again in 8 months! Whatever the reason for your goal, let me throw this out there...
What if you never started? What if you don't get up and go for that walk? What if you reach for that 3rd piece of cake at that birthday party? I can absolutely promise you, without a doubt, you WILL NOT MAKE THAT GOAL!
BUT...
What if you START today? What if you DO get some exercise? What if you have 1/2 a piece of cake and a glass of water and walk around and VISIT at that birthday party? If you do these things and WORK at your goal... I absolutely promise, without a doubt... YOU WILL BE CLOSER TO THE WEIGHT THAT YOU WANT TO BE THAN YOU ARE RIGHT NOW!
Just keep going! It WILL happen for you! Maybe you won't lose XXX pounds by XXX that date... but you will be healthier and happier and most certainly ON YOUR WAY!:flowerforyou:
Good luck to US all on making those goals! We CAN do it!

I'm glad! Knowing that what I wrote in this post is true is sometimes the only thing that keeps me from giving up... We all try so hard every day to reach our goals, but knowing where we would be if we never started is something that we tend to forget occasionally :flowerforyou:0
