what fun thing can you do with your kids that doesn't involve spending tons of money?

Camping, going to the beach, picnics, parks, festivals, zoo, waterparks, going to the lake, fairs, etc.
We like to go boating, but the gas isn't all that cheap. :)

I like buying a kite, (usually around $1-$5) and going outside, or going to a park, and flying it. Pick a windy day, my daughter LOVES when it goes really high.

Buy a big box of chalk, this can also be cheap, and just let them color your driveway.

If you live in a place that has a Friendly's Ice Cream restaurant, they usually do kids eat for free on Wednesdays, and if you order off the $5 menu, you end up paying around $10 for a really great lunch. That always seems to break up the day for us.

Spend some time at the beach! I like to park outside of the beach's parking lot, to avoid the fee, and just walk. It's great exercise, and personally, my daughter is 3 and will jump at the rare opportunity to sit in a stroller haha.

You might check with your local movie theater. Around here during the summer they run free kid movies every tuesday and wednesday mornings. They generally are last seasons movies but the kids still enjoy going.

Parks, hikes & nature walks, fishing, backyard camping, going to the local swimming hole, State & National parks if they're nearby.

    -Geocaching
    -going to lakes and beaches
    -hiking
-indoor picknick on the floor on rainy days
-building a hobbithouse of branches in the woods or yard
-Bonfire and making bread on a stick
-Going on a surprisetour with the bicycle
-If you own a camera: make them take pics of objects that start with the letters of their names or the family names

I love to read the other suggestions as I have 4 kids too. :)

Look here: www.geocaching.com. It is like a modern treasure hunt and there are caches for kids out there as well.

Nice inexpensive resturants for family lunches
Walking and Hiking w/ the whole family (good for losing weight and sight seeing)

Even fishing (especially if you never have) and you get to eat the fish you catch
